Gunmetal Games and Real Fake Games built a first-person open-world store sim about the last VHS shop in Reshoot Springs, and most player questions collapse into the same five jobs: stock the floor, rewind returns, collect late tapes, smash RentNet kiosks, and unlock the side hustle that actually pays. Start here if the store is still empty

New clerks should read the beginner guide before they buy a mechanical bull. The first shift is scripted on purpose: order four starter shelves, pull mixed Animation, Comedy, Action, and Sci-Fi boxes off the delivery truck behind the shop, and get copies onto genre-labeled racks before customers form a lump at the door. If the truck explodes (it can), you still have a Store Manager terminal and a rewind station — you are not stuck. The loop that actually prints money

Rentals alone will not beat RentNet. How to make money covers the honest stack — late fees, snack shelves, memberships — and the shady stack: Illicit Candy Dealer sprees, claw-machine prizes, scratchers, pizza guns, and basement fights. Cash flow dies when you over-hire or expand a basement you cannot fill. Keep a buffer so payday does not empty the register and send staff home. Be kind, rewind — then automate it

The rewind station is the signature chore and the first thing that feels tedious. After the first week

Walk Pier 67 only after the bin is empty, try pizza delivery as a town toy, and clock the Demo Disc if you have not bought yet. Once the floor is stable, convert a VIP before you buy a basement, park a Claw Machine before you gamble on scratchers, and treat arcade cabinets as furniture that levels slowly. Mix one original on the mixing desk if you have spare tapes, and add video game rentals only after four tape genres exist. Steam lists 38 achievements.
